Stockwood Park Golf Centre Etiquette
At Stockwood Park Golf Centre, we want everyone to enjoy their visit – whether you’re here for a round of golf, FootGolf, or just relaxing in the clubhouse. To help us keep the course safe, enjoyable and welcoming for all, we ask that customers follow a few simple guidelines.
Our clubhouse and course are open daily to season ticket holders, pay-as-you-play golfers, guests and visitors.
In the event of severe weather, please check our website or Facebook page, or call the centre to confirm if the course is open before travelling.
Please ensure you have registered your car details in the Pro Shop to avoid any possible fine. Please park in the designated areas of the car park and avoid blocking access routes for emergency vehicles or deliveries.
Parking is for golf centre users only, and vehicles are left at the owner’s risk. The car park will be locked at 9pm.
Trade or delivery vehicles should only park on site with prior authorisation from our management team.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly and respectful place to play.
We simply ask that everyone treats fellow golfers, FootGolf players and our team with courtesy and consideration at all times.
Please help us maintain a pleasant environment by keeping noise to a minimum and showing respect for others on and around the course.
For everyone’s comfort and safety:
- Smoking is not permitted inside the clubhouse or on the course.
- Please do not bring or consume alcohol or other substances on site, or use the facilities while under the influence.
1. Golfers must always play shots towards the designated targets located in the central area of the Driving Range. Deliberately aiming towards the side boundaries, perimeter fencing, netting, neighbouring properties, roads, or any area outside the designated landing zone is strictly prohibited.
2. Only Driving Range golf balls purchased at Stockwood Park Golf Centre are to be used on the Driving Range. Standard golf balls are strictly prohibited.
3. The perimeter netting is installed as a safety precaution and should not be relied upon to stop intentionally misdirected shots. Customers must make every reasonable effort to keep golf balls within the main Driving Range area by selecting an appropriate target line and club.
4. Golfers should use clubs appropriate to their ability and the layout of the facility. Players who are unable to consistently keep shots within the designated Driving Range area may be asked to modify their club selection or playing direction.
5. Golfers must not move the Driving Range tee mats from their secure locations and should only use the plastic tee’s available in each bay.
6. Where unsafe play is observed, staff may issue a verbal warning. Any golfer who continues to play in an unsafe manner after a warning; or deliberately aims away from the central target area; or causes or is likely to cause golf balls to leave the Driving Range facility may be required to stop playing and leave the premises.
7. Users of the Driving Range must not walk or stand directly behind a golfer whilst they are playing a shot.
8. Users of the Driving Range must not step out into the shingle area in front of the bays or attempt to retrieve a golf ball following a wayward shot.
9. Respect other users – no abusive language or disruptive behaviour.
10. Use equipment safely and for its intended purpose only.
11. Juniors (under the age of 12) must always be supervised by an adult (unless they are participating in a supervised session).
12. Only food and drinks purchased onsite may be consumed in this premises.
13. No refund will be issued where a customer is asked to leave due to a breach of this Code of Conduct and staff decisions regarding safety are final.
We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors. By using this facility, customers agree to follow this Code of Conduct and accept responsibility for their actions while on site. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe Driving Range for everyone.
We encourage clean, smart and comfortable clothing on the main course.
Rugby and football shirts are not permitted, and golf shoes should not be worn inside the clubhouse.
All visitors must wear a top while using the course or clubhouse.
If anyone’s attire or behaviour doesn’t meet our standards of respect and safety, we may politely ask them to leave the premises.
To ensure everyone’s safety and comfort, dogs are not permitted on the golf course or in the clubhouse (with the exception of guide dogs).
Out of respect for other players, please keep mobile phone use to a minimum on the course and avoid playing music or using personal radios.
Phones may, of course, be used in an emergency.
We take great care to keep the centre and course in excellent condition, but please note that Stockwood Park Golf Centre and Active Luton cannot accept responsibility for loss, damage or theft of personal belongings or golf equipment.
If accidental damage to Golf Centre property occurs, we may ask the individual responsible to contribute to the cost of repair or replacement.
While every effort is made to ensure your safety, all play and activity on our grounds is at your own risk.
We recommend that players have appropriate insurance cover for personal accidents or damage to equipment.
Thank You
By following this simple etiquette, you’re helping us keep Stockwood Park Golf Centre an enjoyable, safe and welcoming place for everyone – from first-time visitors to long-standing members.
